Andy Wirth is the Chief Executive Officer of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings, which includes both the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Ski Resorts in Olympic Valley, California. Wirth took the position in 2010 after Nancy Cushing stepped down as CEO.
Before beginning his career, Wirth received his education from Colorado State University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree. He worked as a wilderness ranger after college before beginning his career in the hospitality industry in 1986 at Steamboat Springs Resort. Andy Wirth is more than a CEO however, he is also an active member of the community, a philanthropist, a survivor and an athlete.
In early 2016, it was announced by the Reno-Tahoe Regional Air Service Corporation that they elected Andy Wirth as President and Chairman of their organization. Wirth also serves as the Chairman for the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority Board of Trustees.
With Andy Wirth at the helm, it is the board’s responsibility to create more opportunities to promote the airport for tourism. He is also a major contributor to philanthropic projects in his community. He is a known supporter of organizations in the area such as Girls on the Run Sierra Chapter, Humane Society of Tahoe Truckee, the Truckee River Watershed Council, and more.
Andy Wirth is also a lover of extreme sports. In 2013 he took up skydiving until an accident took him off course and left him to land in a vineyard.
