He has previous experience with Protective Life, serving as their chief investment officer under their GIV subsidiary. He recently gained attention after helping the Dallas Zoo bring back their very popular Hippos. James Dondero donated $1 million to the zoo, allowing them to rebuild the abandoned habitat and add a pavilion for private events.
