Having worked in Banco Bradesco from 1969, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi has gained immense experience about how the Brazilian banking industry works. He started as a bank teller in one of the branches and skilled the leadership ladder to become a top executive in the bank. It is no wonder Luiz Carlos Trabuco was recently recognized as the Entrepreneur of the year after leading Bradesco through a successful acquisition of the HSBC Bank of Brazil. The acquisition, which was one of the biggest in the Brazilian banking history, was valued at 5.2 billion U.S dollars. The business deal occurred in 2015 after it was approved by the former Bradesco bank’s President, Mr. Lazaro Brandao. The acquisition of the HSBC bank was a great deal, for the once number one bank in Brazil, which has now fallen into second place behind their competitors, Itau Unibanco.

The successful acquisition of the HSBC Bank now puts Bradesco Bank at per with Unibanco regarding branch network, deposits, number of account holders, total investment funds, assets and loans granted by the bank. According to a statement by Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi, the acquisition helped to push Bradesco six years ahead of its organic growth. While the most of his peers saw the acquisition of HSBC as a power move, Luiz on his part saw it as the deciding factor in garnering the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Mr. Luiz was born and raised in Marilla where he spent much of his childhood years. Luiz Carlos attended Sao Paulo University where he graduated from the faculty of Philosophy and Science. After his graduation, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi joined Bradesco bank at the age of 18 where he began working as a bank teller. Mr. Luiz was devoted to his work, and he worked his way to the top management, serving in different management capacities over the years. Some of the notable posts held by Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi include the Director of Marketing, Executive Vice President, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Executive Director and the President positions.

Becoming the President of Bradesco Bank
Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi began serving as the President of Bradesco bank from October 2017 after the former President; Mr. Lazaro Brandao stepped down from the position. Before exiting the top leadership of the bank, Mr. Lazaro had served as the banks President for nearly three decades.
